We play together with Viktorija since 2012.
She is an amazing singer who made a career out of Berklee. First as a student and since 2016 as a teacher.
In addition, Viktorija Pilatovic is an excellent composer. The other members of the band are Ales Cesarini (double bass) and Alberto Palau (piano). They are two of the most talented musicians in Valencia, as well as good friends of mine.
This is one of my favourite tracks of hers.
PATIENCE (VIKTORIJA PILATOVIC) – FEAT. PERICO SAMBEAT
Perico Sambeat (Valencia), is recognized as one of the best saxophonists in Europe. He has played with many of the world’s leading musicians, as well as conducts his own big bands. We are very lucky that he lives in Valencia. Perico Sambeat has collaborated on several occasions with Viktorija Pilatovic. He has participated in the albums “Stories” and “The Only Light”, as well as in official music videos.

VICTOR JIMENEZ TRIBUTE TO «YELLOWJACKETS«
I met Victor Jimenez when he was just 18 years old. He is one of the most talented saxophonists in Spain. I have been fortunate to share many of his projects. This is the presentation of his tribute to Yellow Jackets within the framework of the 2019 Jazz Festival at the polytechnic University in Valencia. Playing the compositions of the Yellow Jackets is a challenge for all instruments. And this is one of my favorite songs from them.
PATRICE RUSHEN PRODUCING MARIANO STEIMBERG´S BERKLEE GROOVE ENSEMBLE
What a great honor to work together with Patrice Rushen.
Patrice is one of the most important women in music and production history. Patrice is the author of some of the biggest R&B hits.
In 2017 at Berklee, we were fortunate to have a uniquely talented musician. Cellist, rapper, singer, pianist and composer. During his master’s degree at Berklee Valencia I had Brail Watson in my Groove Ensemble. Brail is an incredible human being and extremely talented musician. Surrounded by some luxury companions and with the production of Patrice, we entered the AKKS (Main Studio in Berklee Valencia) and in one day this great song by Brail Watson was completely produced.
CONFUSION – VIKTORIJA PILATOVIC
This is Viktorija Pilatovic´s Confusion official video. She had the idea to record a version of this great song in a reduced Big Band format. This is a reduction of Perico Sambeat´s horn arrangement of this song. The reduction was done by Alberto Palau, who is actually the pianist in Viktorija´s band.
TRIBUTE TO JACO PASTORIOUS – BERKLEE GROOVE ENSEMBLE
In 2018 I was very lucky to have a great group of students in my Groove Ensemble at Berklee Valencia. And I thought it would be a great opportunity to pay tribute to the great Jaco Pastorious. The bass line to “Come on, come over” stayed in my head from the first time I heard it. I had to do our version.
RISING SUN – VIKTORIJA PILATOVIC
This is the official video of the composition Rising Sun by Viktorija Pilatovic. Shot in a very nice loft in the Ruzafa neighborhood (Valencia). When Viktorija played this composition to me, she mentioned the word “flamenco”. I thought of mixing some Rumba flamenca with something more Mediterranean (whatever that might be),
That way I came up with using a brush and hand to play its rhythm.
